The newest apparatus currently in service with The Perrysburg Fire Division is the red ambulance, you may see around town. Medic One is a 2008 Ford E-450 super duty cab with a 170" body. This truck was put into service in early 2009. It is the second apparatus to be painted the traditional fire engine red, replacing the yellow. You may feel the rumble as Medic One passes you on the way to an emergency. This advanced life support ambulance is equipped with a 'rumbler' siren. This type of siren is designed to actually make you feel the siren. Today's modern cars are so sound proofed this makes you feel it even if you cannot hear it. Medic One is staffed with at least 2 paramedics at all times and can gain help from Engine One if more personnel are needed.

Engine One
The first out apparatus for anything in the city is Engine One. It is also the first sent to any surrounding area that request our assistance. Engine One is a 1997 Pierce Quantum. It has room for up to seven personal. It has a 1500 GPM pump, a 750 gallon water tank, and a foam proportioning system. Engine One also has the EMS equipment to act as an ALS first responder unit. You may see Engine One responding with the medic units through out the city on EMS runs. One of the reasons for this is for added manpower. The medic units are staffed with 2 paramedics and the engine assists them with at least 3 additional paramedics.
Res Q Pod
The below video is a research done on the new device called the Res-Q-Pod. We have been using the device for over a year now and have found it has worked as well as the studies have found. The device is used in cardiac arrest patients and has helped in the return of spontaneous circulation. In other words, the patients pulse has returned. The Res-Q-Pod is used to increase blood flow to the heart during CPR which aids in the ROSC. We hope you enjoy the video, and as always your comments are welcome at: http://perrysburgfireequipment.blogspot.com/
